SlurryBugs

What is SlurryBugs®?

An organic bacterial slurry inoculant to maximise the fertiliser value of your slurry

  • Mobilise plant available nutrients including ammonium
  • Makes a more homogenous, easier to handle slurry – saving time and fuel
  • Maximises nutrient availability which reduces bought-in fertiliser costs
  • Improves soil condition by restoring a balanced C:N ratio
  • Helps to reduce odour

SlurryBugs adds non-pathogenic bacteria and enzymes to your slurry to drive the breakdown of solid matter.  The bacteria secrete enzymes which break up the undigested fiber (cellulose and other plant matter) releasing the soluble nutrients and making them available for spreading onto land, whilst producing a more homogenous liquid slurry.  This makes slurry handling easier, and reduces the need for bought in fertiliser.

Where can I use SlurryBugs®?

SlurryBugs is suitable for any type of slurry store including:

  • Slatted tanks
  • Reception pits
  • Ring towers
  • Lagoons
  • Weeping walls

Latest slurry fertiliser data revealed… just how many ££’s can SlurryBugs inoculants help you save?

New analysis found SlurryBugs® treated slurry had higher total nitrogen (+27%), phosphate (+45%) and potassium (+16%) levels compared to untreated slurry.

This difference represents an NPK slurry value of £2.25/tonne, equivalent to around 20% more economic value. Read more about the findings here.

How long will it take to see progress from SlurryBugs®?

This depends on the starting condition of your slurry, what is in there and what variants you’ve used.  If used as advised, changes start to become noticeable after 4-5 weeks. After 10 weeks you should have a homogenous, easy to spread, free flowing slurry system.
